Summary of Modern Studies on Maren Runchang (Easy Move & Colon Clean™) Capsule

 

Chinese Use: Habitual constipation, lying-in woman constipation, old people constipation due to intestinal dryness, constipation due to hemorrhoid, hemorrhoid bleeding.

 

Modern studies on pharmacodynamics reveals that this product yields promotion of intestinal peristalsis, and bacteriostatic action.

1.      Promotion of intestinal peristalsis: middle and large dosages of this product markedly shortens the time of defecation in normal mice, increases the number of solid dung balls, with soft interior; markedly shortens the time of defecation in mice with constipation of dry-constipation and excessive heat types, increases the number of black dung ball; markedly increases the rate of pushing charcoal powder in mice, demonstrating that it markedly improves the intestinal peristalsis, markedly increase the water contents in the small intestine. the above results show that this product yields obvious cathartic action, softens and lubricates the stool.

2.      Bacteriostatic: The Radix Rhei and Radix Paeonia alba in the recipes yield anti-bacterial action. Rhei has a wider anti bacteria spectrum, especially staphylococcus, diplococcus gonorrhoea which are the most sensitive ones, the active ingredient being 3-hydroxyl rhein.

 

Clinically, this product is applied in habitual constipation, senile constipation due to dry intestine, or due to piles, bloody hemorrhoid.

1.      Constipation: effective for habitual constipation, puerperal constipation, senile constipation due to dry intestine, pile constipation due to intestinal accumulated heat, with stuffy and distended chest and abdomen, frequent micturation.

2.      Bloody piles: effective for the type with dry-heat of the stomach-intestine
