Summary of Modern Studies on Sanqi Yushang(Trauma Natural Healing Promoter™ ) Capsule

 

Chinese Use: Sprain, injure acute or chronic pain, fracture, injury of teh tissues.

 

Modern studies on pharmacodynamic reveal that this product yields actions of analgesia, anti-inflammation and homeostasis

 

1.                            Analgesia: For experimental pain in mice, this product yields very remarkable analgesic action, which, in the dose of 1g/kg of extract yields similar effect to pethidine 75mg/kg. Oral administration of this product 1g/kg markedly decreases the number of body torsion in mice induced by acetic acid, similar to the action of pethidine 50mg/kg. Heat-plate method shows that this product 2.74g/kg elevates the pain threshold in mice, similar to the action of pethidine 75mg/kg, only with shorter duration. The analgesic action of this product can be totally blocked by naloxone, an antagonistic agent of opium receptor. Hence, it can be said that this product yields an analgesic action similar to opiate.

2.              Anti-inflammation: Oral administration of this product 1g/kg markedly inhibits the auricular inflammatory swelling in mice caused by dimethyl benzene, also with similar action on rat swollen feet caused by albumen. The effect reaches its peak 2~4 hrs after medication.

3.              Hemostasis: To mice, 1g/kg of this product is perfused to the stomach, with good coagulation action. 2.5 hrs after medication, it shortens the normal coagulation time.

 

Toxicological studies: Gastric perfusion of this product to mice shows that the LD₅₀ and its confident-limit (90%) is 5.06±0.94g/kg.

 

Clinically, this product was used in sprain , and acute and chronic pain in trauma, fracture and injury of soft tissues.

633cases of all kinds of injury were treated with a total effective rate of 91%. It was especially good in some common ligament sprain, common injuries and soft tissue injuries. To chronic strain of the waist muscles, the analgesic action is satisfactory. It also ameliorates pain due to chest contusion or inner injury.
